Very long story- i'll try to shorten it down a bit ;-) Okay so whenever I stand up, to some degree, I always have symptoms like blackened vision, sometimes completely, tinnitus, headaches in my temples/ behind my eyes, and more recently my hands and feet are going numb and my face is tingling, not to mention that freaking burning feeling in my head and neck, oh and the usual momentary off balance-ness. Save for standing still for a second until I can see and hear again, this doesn't usually bother me- i've gotten used to it. Hah.

So about a month ago (All this started up when I was 12 or 13; I'm 17 now.) I got out of the shower, was hanging out drying off on my bed like I always do, stood up and down I went. I woke up back on my bed (Thankfully) staring blankly ahead, bad headache, ringing ears, and my leg was twitching. I didn't think it was worth it, but the next day we went to a clinic where they tested my blood and gave me an EKG and everything checked out. Fine with me, I like being healthy!

Well yesteday it happened AGAIN! I didn't even realise my vision was fading this time, I just stood up to go to my door (I had just woken up, it was like 11:30) and woke up when I heard my grandmother call my name. I thought I was still standing up, didn't even realise I was on the floor until I felt my head and shoulder throbbing from hitting my wall (Apparently it was a bunch of loud bangs as I somehow managed to not break my neck when I wanged my head on one wall, my shoulder on the other, and then finally hit the ground... I wish I could have been awake for it though!! XD) Not only that, but I just couldn't figure out what time of day it was! Kind of cool actually, I thought it was still the night before and I was getting ready to go to bed when it happened. Lo, I didn't believe my clock when it read 11:30 AM.

So, what, could this be anything bad, or am I just being a pansy about it all? I don't like calling attention to myself, and I definately don't like going to a hospital/ clinic as a patient, so what should I do? Blood glucose is normal, as are my hydration and minerals... So i'm confused. XD

it sounds to me like postural hypotension (fairly common) - although i couldn't say for definite.

it happens to lots of people - they suddenly get similar symptoms to yours when standing up from sitting or laying down. it can cause dizziness etc. and is the result of a sudden drop in blood pressure

you could try standing up more slowly and see if that makes a difference.
