I have had itching on my outer vaginal area for 6 months now and a little discharge and I'm still a virgin.
I noticed this problem after my basketball season after sitting in the wirl pool (which is a tub of water that was treatment for my hamstring injury) and also I was washing my clothes (and panties) with my teamates after games.
I have recently been bathing in hot water with aveno bath products and the itching has decreased but has not left. In addition, I noticed that when I use a wash cloth to clean the irritated area I see little dry skin that has peeled off. Does anyione happen to know what this is or what I should do to end this.
Thanks

the same thing has been happening to me as well. I first noticed it after I swam in a lake at summer camp. All the advice that i have gotten is to try to wash the area every day with a mild soap, and to try not to use any kind of detergents with dyes or perfumes. Also, always wear 100% cotton panties. It might just be dry where you are, since it's winter, and that might cause it to be itchy. other than that, if anyone has found a remedy please post it.

The same thing was happening to me, and I asked my gynecologist. Apparently I'm allergic to whatever is in/on the pantiliners/pads. Because I had been wearing them daily my body developed an allergic reaction (go figure). So she stopped me wearing the pantiliners and it stopped within a few days. To stop the discharge (my reason for the pantiliners) I started taking AZO Yeast pills. I only wear the pads during my cycle and never wear anything longer than 3 hours. Not sure if it the info. helps, but that may be what it is an allergic reaction that just developed.

I have the same thing, it's excruciatingly itchy on the outer part, I wash everyday and it is better but then eventually it itches again.
I tried putting antibacterial on it but it made it smell weird so I didn't use it again.
I don't know what else to do.

If you wish to get rid of itching try colloidal silver...it has worked for me with terrible itchy ears and has gotten rid of my husbands itchy scalp and dandruff of 30 years.

This is crazy. I didnt know so many people had this problem.

For years ive had additional discharge or more than normal (my doctor at the time said that my hormones were just producing more than most people and that there was no way to fix it). My solution was to wear pantiliners and I have been doing this for some time now (four years or so). Now that im not a virgin i get paranoid about this itching thing. I just realized today that I have tons of dry skin down there. Im so paranoid I feel that it could have stemmed from my ahletes foot, even though im causious not to touch one after thouching the other. 8-| The itching goes away and comes back and has been doing so for about a month or so now. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions? I hate not wearing the pantiliners because then my underwear become very uncomfortable.

P.S. i didnt read everyones post so i may have missed a valuable solution. but please, reiterate if you wish!

Thanks so much! :O

Most of you the problem is the area is staying moist causing a yeast infection. I too sufer you need to see a gyno, get monistat cream at the pharmacy (over the counter) and also I found that taking tylenol helps alot. For the girls that play sports, you will probably get this often. swetting does this. also wear cotton panties.. its a must for women.

colloidal silver has helped me with an unbearable itch.  I was forced to order Viaderm KC from Canada, but the  colloidal silver works just as well.  My itch has gone from a 10 (unbearable) to a 1 hardly noticeable with a pure natural substance.  Distilled water and nano particles of pure silver.  How easy was that!  Don't suffer needlessly try God's antibiotic, colloidal silver.

I think the pantilners (Always)with "Dry Soft" and Dry Lock" are like what is in diapers.  They make the pads thinner, but they are chemicals.  I have developed an allergy to them, and just barely figured it out.  I switched my pantiliners, to ones that dont have the Dry Soft or Dry Lock and seemed to feel better.  Then when I got my period, I had Always pads in the cupboard, and got he itchy symptoms again.  I bought the Kotex Naturals, and felt better immediately.  It looks like Kotex and Carefree are free of these chemical.  I noticiced right away the Kotex pad are thicker than the Always pads, but that is because they do not have those chemicals in them that draws away wetness.  I am concerned for the babies to have them on their bottoms 24/7. thank you to everyone that has posted.  Makes me feel better, there are no allergy warnings on these labels.

Colloidal silver isn't considered safe or effective for any of the health claims manufacturers make. Silver has no known purpose in the body. Nor is it an essential mineral, as some sellers of silver products claim.

Colloidal silver products are made of tiny silver particles suspended in a liquid — the same type of precious metal used in jewelry, dental fillings, silverware and other consumer goods. Colloidal silver products are usually marketed as dietary supplements that are taken by mouth. Colloidal silver products also come in forms to be injected or applied to the skin.

Manufacturers of colloidal silver products often claim that they are cure-alls, boosting your immune system, fighting bacteria and viruses, and treating cancer, HIV/AIDS, shingles, herpes, eye ailments and prostatitis. However, no sound scientific studies to evaluate these health claims have been published in reputable medical journals. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration has taken action against some manufacturers of colloidal silver products for making unproven health claims.

It's not clear how much colloidal silver may be harmful, but it can build up in your body's tissues over months or years. Most commonly, this results in argyria (ahr-JIR-e-uh), a blue-gray discoloration of your skin, eyes, internal organs, nails and gums. While argyria doesn't pose a serious health problem, it can be a cosmetic concern because it doesn't go away when you stop taking silver products.

Rarely, excessive doses of colloidal silver can cause possibly irreversible serious health problems, including kidney damage and neurological problems such as seizures. Colloidal silver products may also interact with medications, including penicillamine, quinolone, tetracycline and thyroxine medications.
