Hi,

My child (1.5 years old, Male) has Right Knee Swelling. First the Doctors have suspected Tuberculosis and Montaux test(Result is - Ve) and Synovial Biopsy (Result is -ve for Tuberculosis) is done. ANA Test gave Positive Result but the Details Report shows negative, the tests are mentioned below.

ANTIBODY TO Rib.Po - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO nRNP/Sm - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO CENP B - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO dsDNA - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO HISTONES - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO NUCLEOSOMES - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO AMA-M2 - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO PM-Scl - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODY TO Ro-52 - NEGATIVE
ANTIBODIES TO PCNA - NEGATIVE
and PLATELET COUNT(Automated blood cell count) is 754000 /Cmm


The Doctor has confirmed the disease as Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and adviced to take Methatroxate (7.5 mg tablet weekly once). Please advice whether this is the correct treatment?

I see this is a old post but yes methotrexate is the way to go to begain with. I hope you even see this reply as this is a very old post.
