I need advice. My 10 years old daughter complains she has headaches. I took her to doctor and as he doesn’t believe her. I really do not know what to do. I trust my child and I believe she wouldn’t lie to me, also I thought to trust professional medical opinion. I suppose I shall change doctor… how is with this juvenile migranes? Are they common with kids? Why do they happen?

Hello.
I think you are right by changing your daughter doctor. If he doesn’t believe your daughter, how are you and your daughter supposed to believe his professional opinion? There must be trust related relationship between doctor and his patient. As I see it, this doctor is very arrogant and too proud to be doctor.
Kids do have migraines, this is not a breaking news, and parents and kids deal different with them. Your daughter should get enough sleep, best is in a dark and quiet room. You could but wet towel on her head, exchanging warm and cold. She should get enough fresh air…
Well, with migraines is like that… mast cells are responsible for releasing neurotransmitters in the brain that cause changes in the vascular and autonomic systems. These results in migraine symptoms. Scientists can determine mast cell activation by measuring an increased level of tryptase in urine. For example, some foods believed to trigger migraine symptoms are also associated with activated mast cells. So, maybe your doctor concluded from urine (if he ordered a check up of urine) that your daughter is lying… however this is no good excuse.
If I were you, I would find a doctor that I could trust.
Regards!

My 4 year old daughter has had two episodes with what I believe is migraines. I did not realize that children this young could have migraines. Is there a treatment for these in preschool aged children?
