Earlier this year I ran Kona as a fund raising event for the American Stroke Association, which was my first marathon. While many of you can post a mile by mile recap of your run I unfortunatley (fortunately maybe) can't do that. My mind tends to wander. So I am posting where my mind went during that run. No laughing please!

Kona

I travel far across the sea
To tame the beast that calls to me.
I travel far a marathon waits
I'll gladly tempt the hands of fate

The gun goes off the race is on
I'll try to tame this marathon
Our shoes they keep a steady beat
The pavement glides beneath our feet

A hill, a hill, another hill
They're just there to test our will
Thirteen one we turn around
Our shoes still beat a steady sound

The miles drone on our muscles ache
Don't stop now, too much at stake
My heroes names I call to mind
They drive me toward the finish line

Twenty point two it's back through town
Nothing now will slow me down
The miles go by the people cheer
They all call out the end is near

One last turn, I'm almost done
I have tamed this marathon
Adrenalin rush, I cross the line
I slew the beast, success is mine.
