I would like to share a experience with you and have comments.
When I was about 25 until now. I am 52. I hade once ore twice a year a very big pain in the area between and around anus. But it is inside 4-6 cm in. I'm stright.
The atack comes often in the nighttime. I wake up with a large pain and I try to sort of walk away from it and strech and move my body in strange strecthing. A few times it helps. But if it does not I absolutly faint.
Long time ago I was told by a doctor that this was not an unkown situation but nobody was talking about it beacuse it was where it was. Her sollution was to penetrate my anus with a finger and strech some ligaments that went round my anus inside my pelvis in the area downwords. It helped almost directly. She lacalised where it hurts first and then pull untill you feel the muscle shake. One minute or so. Then a big relife came over me.
Now my question is?? Is this common or not. Does anybody have a name on this? Is there a way to never have this pain again.

Hello.....I dont know if this is the same thing....but I too suffer from a smilar sounding affliction. The pain usually occurs about 1-3 inches inside my rectum....at least thats where it feels like. The pain only seems to occur at night...usually waking me up from a sound sleep. I usually sit on the toilet and try to pass stool....only because one time I went to the Dr. with the issue and I was told it was a result of constipation and the stool pressing on my prostate....but I dont think this was the case as I was regular. All I know is the pain is unbearable and typically occurs 3-5 times a year lasting 10-30 minutes.

Or at least that's where it feels closest to. It happens for me more often than once a month and also during the day and night. it feels as though i would hurt myself if i tried to pass a stool when it hurts. it's been like this for about 10 years or so and i'm 26 now.

My sister and I also suffer from the condition. After researching online, I think it is called Proctalgia Fugax. My pain is quite severe. As soon as it starts, I lay on the heating pad and it subsides pretty quickly. The first time it happened, maybe 5 years ago, I had no clue what it was, but it was so painful that I almost passed out. I hope this helps.

thank you so much, omg it has a name...and I am not crazy, someone else actually has this too! This has been going on for about 10 years, waking me up in the m,iddle of the night! most of the time, but has been happening lately in awake hours...
