I had a face/neck lift a month ago.  I am very happy with my neck and jaw line but I have this sunken look on my left side under my check. My right check and the skin under is perfect.  Shoud I be concerned?

It's not uncommon to experience some differences in appearance between the two sides of your face after a facelift procedure. Asymmetry in the healing process can occur, and this is usually temporary. However, it's essential to communicate your concerns with your plastic surgeon who performed the procedure. They are the best person to evaluate your specific situation and provide guidance on whether the asymmetry you're noticing is a normal part of the healing process or if it requires further attention.

Your surgeon may recommend:

  1. Observation: In many cases, mild asymmetry or unevenness can improve as the healing process continues. Your surgeon may advise you to wait a bit longer to see if the issue resolves on its own.

  2. Massage or Physical Therapy: In some cases, gentle massage or physical therapy techniques may help with the healing process and improve any irregularities in facial appearance.

  3. Additional Procedures: If the asymmetry is more pronounced and persistent, your surgeon might suggest additional procedures or treatments to address the concern. These could include filler injections or minor revisions.

  4. Follow-Up Appointments: Continue attending follow-up appointments with your surgeon as scheduled. They will monitor your progress and make recommendations based on the evolving healing process.
