My son is 28 and had to be put on Lexapro ,before this he was already on Toprol XL for his blood pressure. We have noticed that when he takes his Toprol XL around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and his Flexapro around 5 to 6 in the afternoon his blood pressure goes back up to around 135/91 pulse anywhere from 71 to 88.. Is this common with these 2 meds ? And will it subside and as he takes his Flexapro. Seems the blood pressure goes back up after he takes the flexapro but its helping him with the thoughts and the way he has felt.Last nght was his 8th night taking Flexapro. ANY suggestions as the way he takes these meds that might help lower his blood pressure and the both still work properlyand not interfer with his job abilities when he goes back to work if he does that is .? He works at nights in as a certified jailer and has been put on medical leave due to the depression.

Call your drugstore and tell them what you posted here and ask them if these 2 drugs interact with each other. If so, then call the doctor and tell them what the drugstore said and maybe one med would have to be changed
good luck
