Ok, I'm a 19 year old college student who has 3 female roommates. I know it is typical for a lot of things to happen when women are on their periods, like we can menstrate at the same time as females around us, however I was just wondering, is it really common that while women are on their period that they want sex more often, because my roommates and I all feel this way, and we were just wondering why it is that we seem to want sex so much more at this time than any other? You and your roommates are not imagining it. I and alot of other women I know get the same way. I know that when we are ovulating which is our most fertile time - right before our cycles, we are the most receptive to sex. I think that maybe the hormones that make us want sex because of the egg being in place for pregnancy. Our periods are our bodies way of flushing out the unfertilized egg so a new cycle can start fresh. Until the egg is totally cleansed from our bodies, our hormones are going to treat it like we should be trying to fertlize it, which means we still feel turned on.
Do you ever notice how "needy" we women seem to get the days before our cycle? Thats all related to the mating processes.
Also do you and your roommates notice guys checking you out more around that time of the month more so than other times? Our bodies are supposed to be giving off a subtle scent to the oppisite sex that lets them know we are fertile, just like animals do. Thankfully its subtle enough that our noses aren't really picking up on it, its just enough that our brains register its there.
