Hello, folks. My nephew has been diagnosed with hepatitis b. Don’t ask me how he got it since he hasn’t got the clue. I am not sure how this all will develop, but I would like to know about the life expectancy for this disease. Can anyone help me with more info? I will appreciate it.

You shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions. First, your nephew needs a prompt treatment. You should be there for him. Average life expectancy for people with hepatitis B is 50. However, this is not general for all. It all depends whether these patients are active or passive carriers. Active carries have viruses replicating after the disease was healed. Viruses continue to damage liver. On the other hand, passive carriers have only antibodies. Their liver is not being constantly damaged. Good luck.
