I've been having light green discharge with an odor for about 3-4 weeks. After the second week I started to get a burning sensation along with itching... I never had any of these happen to me before. What do I do? Whats wrong? I started to get these 'sympotoms' I guess you could call them two weeks after I started my current relationship. We've been having unprotected sex. Could that be the cause?

You need to go to the doctor. It may just be a case of thrush, but since you have had unprotected sex with a new partner then it is a very likely that it is an STI. Please go and get it checked, if left untreated some STI's can affect future fertility.

To me, I could be wrong, it sonds like Trichomoniasis, an STD commonly known as Trich. It has a somewhat greenish discharge and an odor, along with burning. I had this and you just described the symptoms I had. But it could be another STD as well. However, the color in the discharge indicates there is some sort of infection and needs to get checked nevertheless.

What ever the cause assume the worst case senario and consult your local GP, he/she should be able to diagnose the case and if not refere you to your local hospital.

Yes, i totally agree it could be a STD "Sexually Transmitted Disease". however there are a number of "conditions / reactions" the vagina can suffer from, it could be simpily a yeast infection, this occurs when the enviroment which the genital area is subject to is changed, i.e the insertion of a forigne object.

This can give the symptons you are describing, it could also subject your partner to external sore's on his penis. if this is the case then it is nothing to worrie about, just give it time and the symptons should diminish on there own.

I However strongly advise that you seek medical advise, it is nothing to be ashamed of and im sure you GP would gladly help.

I hope i have been of some help and get well soon
