OK so the cramping is what drew my attention.
Your symptoms sound consistent with Polycycstic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). POCS is caused by a hormonal inbalance, where cysts form on the ovaries (tiny sacks filled with fluid) when they burst or rupture they can cause severe period like cramping and slight spotting. The fact that the spotting is continuing is enough of a symptom to warrent a trip to the dr's office. If it is POCS they will suggest the contraceptive pill to control the hormonal inbalance too prvent the cyst from growing/rupturing.

Although there are alot of things that can go on in the uterus such as fibroid and polyps (growths), which can be irritated by intercourse and cause bleeding. None of which are rarely life threatening. A pap smear might be a good idea also!
All these things can be ruled out by an Ultrasound and blood works which your dr. should suggest.
All the best x
