I have no idea why I can't lose weight. I started depo at 165 and am now 300 after being off almost 2 years. My GP can't explain it either. She said the max is usually 40 pounds. Although I'm apparently a medical one in a million. Having had guardasil and still tested positive for a high risk strain of hpv.

I completely agree with you, my diet and exercise routine did not change at all yet I put on 16 lbs. i am still after being of depo(having had my last shot in September of 2016) am still struggling to get the weight off. iam 100 percent plant based and work out 5 days a week. I have read many similar stories as well.

I totally agree with everything u wrote about it! I am in the same boat and hate life. But I'm dealing best I can. I just wish there were more people saying they lost weight after getting off it rather than kept gaining or just couldn't lose any weight at al. Very depressing. I'm still so mad at myself for trying this stupid shot!!! Hope the best for u girl!!

Totally true. The shot just increases your appetite. It's not going to make anyone magically retain weight. If you don't try to lose it, it won't go away. I was on depo for 3 years and my weight stayed low then I got off for a year and a half then started again just 2 months ago and gained over 10 pounds already. So I won't be continuing the shot for that reason and a number of other reasons. So ladies, wait about 6 months to a year for your period to return and watch what you eat and control your eating (timing, quantity, quality) and you'll be ok eventually.

Well, I've been on depo for a little over two years and my doctor said I'm like the 4th patient of hers to lose weight while on the shot. It's rare but not impossible. As in other reviews, depo will affect everyone differently. Some people don't have a period as to others who have a constant period, luckily I got all the good body side affects (loss of weight but still a healthy weight, hardly any spotting or acne), my emotions and sex drive on the other hand, not so great. I'm planning on getting off it but I'm scared of the weight gain, I've never been a heavy person, always thin although I was a C cup when I started the shot now I feel like a A cup which is embarrassing. I like to be thin, I can't stand the thought of gaining 10+ lbs and not being able to lose it

Your clinician actually said that! Most doctors are in denial. Did she tell you how to fix your metabolism?? I was 119 and after 3 shots 158, it's so hard to lose the weight, my metabolism is ruined now.

You can have weight gain or loss it's perfectly normal. I am on the shot for the second time in my life and it affects me the same. No appetite and I lose weight like crazy

Hi I’ve been having the same problems as your daughter did and I was wondering if anything got better for her and what you guys did...I’ve been off the shot for about a year and a half and have gained about 70 pounds after my last shot. I was fine when I was on the shot but when I stopped the shot I just kept gaining. I was 5’9 and 145 pounds before I got off the shot and I’ve just been struggling so much with this weight gain. I’ve eaten healthy and work out every day and nothing happens.
