Hello to you all! I am hoping you can help me with some advice relating to a lump I have on the roof of my mouth. It has been there on and off for the last few years, and after a period of inflammation it totally disappears. I have come to accept it as normal, but when the lump is there it does hurt and it is very unpleasant. What is this? What can I do about it?

Well, you might have accepted it as normal but it sure isn't, and by the sounds of it it's probably some kind of herpes outbreak. It certainly sounds like that, what with the lump not being there all the time. What is strange is that there is only one though. My best advice is that you get yourself to a doctor when you get your next outbreak, so you can get a diagnosis.
