Hello, good people. My friend has been suffering from pulmonary amyloidosis. He is recommended to take melphalan. Is this all right? I would like to know something more about this. It would be great if anyone could provide me with more info considering this. Thank you in advance. Your help means a lot to me.

Hi, there. Pulmonary amyloidosis represents accumulation of amyloid in lungs. It can affect other organs as well. As far as I know, corticosteroids are recommended here. Melphalan is a chemotherapeutic drug. I think it can be used for amyloidosis as well. I am not sure about the details. You should consult a doctor about this. I am sorry I don’t know more details. Good luck!
