just wanted to jump on the bandwagon here. I had the Mirena put in in December, and I weighed 132 pounds. I was at that weight for at least two years (after losing the weight of my last pregnancy). By March, I was up to 140. Of course the doctor kept insisting it couldn't have been the Mirena, but I don't agree. Also thought it was interesting that I am a person who stays at a consistent weight, but I gained a lot of weight (50+ pounds) both times I was pregnant. I really believe that is just how my body reacts to hormones and/or something in the uterus. The weight gain was all in my belly and I felt bloated all of the time. Though I hated to do it, I had it removed after four months. I was obsessed with the weight gain. Honestly, I was hoping that it would fall right off so I could call my doctor to say "ha!," but it has been exactly one month and I have only seen about a pound fall off. I am hoping that I slowly go back down to where I was pre-Mirena, and I am still going to call the doctor to say "ha!" I don't believe this product is for everyone and it really irks me when doctors are patronizing and don't understand that a product can affect people differently (despite what Berlex may be claiming) ...
