I've been on the pill for three months i.e. three packs (21 active, 7 inactive pills) and during my would be ovulation period i am having mittelschmerz or ovulation pain. However, since I am on the pill shouldn't that stop ovulation thus the pain? Or am I still ovulating, because I'm still having a regular period, but have been sexually active (mainly using the pull-out method) So, i'm really confused...Am I even still protected? Could this be a early pregnancy sign? Please let me know!

I have been on the pill for about three years. I think i get mittelschmerz, but I have never really tracked when i get it. It's a shooting, stabbing pain that i get that i can definitely locate to my uterus, not one one side or the other of my pelvis. I don't get it every cycle either. Mittelschmerz is supposed to stop when you go on the pill, because you no longer ovulate. I worry that what i have is something different, because it's not like cramps it is more severe, but in the same location as cramps.
