I've been on Anti-depressants since November of 2007. They were prescribed by my doctor and quickly upped to the highest dosage. They seem to be helping but when I called to have them refilled again this week, she called me back saying that this was the last time she would refill it because she'd prefer if a psychiatrist was regulating them. As it is, my health insurance only covers one actually psychiatrist in my area who is located an hour away (with no traffic). I told her this, but she seems unconcerned and says that if I won't see a psychiatrist, she won't refill my medication. With this said... I have to wonder, is that even safe? Of course it isn't, but i'm unsure of what to do in this situation. I stopped taking them three days ago to see what it might be like and I was so dizzy I could barely walk. It doesn't seem right to me that a doctor would make someone so abruptly discontinue use of a medicine. Can anyone give me some advise???
