I have been on methadone for 3 and 1/2yrs. When I first got on it my highest dose was 80mg and then I found out i was pregnant. I was down to 63mg at that time and I wanted to keep my daughter, so I had to stay on it and I kept getting sick (withdrawing). I ended up on 265mgs by the time she was born and I was all belly. I had never had a weight problem before, 135-140 was my highest weight, at 9months pregnet I was around 155-160. After I gave birth to her I blew up to 204 pounds. I've been coming down since then, (May,2007). I tried every thing and I weigh about 180 now, 2yrs later!!!! Iam down to 38mgs and coming down 1mg a week. I hate the way I look and I would just be happy at 145-150pnds. I just wanna like my body agin and have my weight come off b/c I eat right and work out, but nothing!!! SO, I was just wondering if anyone out there has had this problem and when they started to get low and come off did they lose weight???? Please Help!!! :'(

Hi:
I just wanted to encourage you a bit. Even though your weight loss is slow, it is happening. You are coming down, and you were able to complete the pregnancy while on medication. You seem to have a lot of positives, where others are failing. Try to relax a bit and focus on those things. You are moving toward your goal. I know it's hard and I understand how discouraging weight gain can be. I do not mean to undermine your concerns. You are on a good track. I hope that this helps.
