I know this is over a year old but thanks for quelling my concerns on this topic. I recently had mine done (I'm 21, and this is my first surgery) and I've practically have started to freak out since no one had informed me how bad it would look and feel. They made it seem like a pretty light surgery with only 2-3 days of severe pain, they never told me anything about bruising and the hefty amount of bleeding when not having bowel movements. Your post has put some more resolve into my mind, I'm hoping to just take my painkillers, drink lots of liquid and watch the days blend by.

I want to ask about the colonoscopy prep if you have a prolapsed internal hemorrhoid. I've had significant bleeding from it, and am afraid the prep will cause a huge bleeding situation Thanks!

No, you cannot take a walk after a week. You are in serious pain. That simple.

By Jeff Herman, every success story I read is days out of surgery, not 2, 5, or 10 years.

Days doesn't matter, years matter, can anyone post those stories?

Did you get an answer?
Seems like there are a few success stories just days out, but none 4, 6, or 10 years.

Those are the stories that matter.
These glowing 6 day out stories could very well become a nightmare at 6 months or early years, but we don't hear follow ups.

Hello- I am scheduled to have the Hemorrhoidectomy surgery next month but ALL of the reviews that I read from people who has done the procedure has reported very very scary excruciating pain that tbey ever felt. I'm so scared and recovery time seems impossible to do as I just started a new job as an EA. Do you think its possible to work (remote) after a week? Did the medication make you constipated? Did you do bm in the sitz bath? I would think its a lot easier with the comfort of warm water to help ease the pain. Sitz bath I feel makes me strain more becuz I have short legs even with the squatty potty.
I'm so scared of the excruciating pain. Any advise to help me ease the nervousness.
