My husband and I have known each other for four years but have been married for almost a year. He gets these stomach pains after he eats certain foods such as sauce with pasta, butter and mayonaise. He gets these pains after he overeats or he gets them when he doesn't eat. I just know when he eats salad and foods with no spices, sauces or dressings he's fine. Otherwise, he feels stomach pain. The pain on the upper right side. He has gone through various tests for this. He went for a colonoscopy two times, a Upper GI tract endoscopy once, CT Scan and various abdominal sonograms. And the doctor can't find anything wrong. Now the doctor wants him to go for another Upper GI tract endoscopy because he feels he missed something. Again everytime the doctor perscribes an anti-acid medication it lasts a month and then the pain starts all over again. My husband also complains that he's bloated and that he loses weight. And he's tired of eating a bland diet. He even had a blood test a few weeks ago but all it said was his cholesterol is high and his thyroid gland is inactive. The guy eats healthier than I eat sometimes. I suspect he's gluten intolerant and dairy intolerant even though he doesn't have the exact symptoms; however, he doesn't have this pain when he eats bread or any wheat. He puts milk in his cereal and he doesn't pain from that. He has this pain when he eats various condiments and spices. But then again I truly don't know. I even suggested to him to tell the doctor to test him for these things before having him go through a Upper GI tract endoscopy procedure that didn't find anything six years before. I even suggested he go to my doctor who has an excellent reputation as a diagnostician because the doctor he has is supposed to be not only his doctor but his gastrointerologist and when I took him there in December of last year this doctor ended up misdiagnosing him. He was actually having a kidney stone attack and needed major surgery to blast the stone out. My husband's going to be calling the doctor on Wednesday to find out what is going on but I really want him to press the doctor to take other tests such as gluten, dairy or other food intolerance before going through procedures that may not find anything and haven't found anything yet. I truly don't know what to do or how to help him.

My hub had the same problem and it turned out to be an ulcer. Dr. gave him prylocec which can now be gotten without a script. Sauce, green peppers, hot peppers, Italian sausage and greasy burgers, all things he used to love to eat, done. The prylocec was okay for about a month, then another attack had him doubled over in pain. This time a perscription was called in, it is called, CARAFATE. It is a liquid and comes in a rather large bottle. He had to take it 3 times a day before each meal and the last dose before bed. Doctor gave him 1 refill, which he has never needed. The pain has been gone for a long time now. He can eat some of his favorite foods, but in small quantities and always with an antacid before and after. I hope this helps a little. Maybe he could mention it to his Doc,
