I had my parathyroide glands (the 2 on the left hand side) removed 8weeks ago. Ever since the operation I have had neck pain around my windpipe. The only way to describe is its like I have a really tight rollneck jumper on and I need to release the pressure on my neck by pulling the jumper away. Does that makes sense? I thought it was easing but it seems to get worse especially at night when I'm tired, pain killers don't help at all I just have to lay down and rest.

Yesterday I actually thought someone had their fingers round my throat strangling me the sensation of tightness was so great and this has continued over the past 24hrs, it has definately got worse and if you look at my neck you can see a slightly different colour to my skin where I'm feeling the pain. Have mentioned to the consultant who first said it could be permanant nerve damage to the muscles of my neck and then on my 2nd appontment told me to be patient and it will get better. The trouble is its not, its 24/7 and I don't know what to do about it - my gut says that when they stitched everything back they did it too tight so its continuously pulling.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.
