I am 18 years of age and have not had a period in 4 months. I am wanting a baby so i'm a little concerned about my ovulation cycle and why it's not happening. I'm going to college to be a CNM, MSN so, please do not put opinions about whether i'm mature enough for this. I am getting ready to see a GYN but, i like to dig around myself. I have taken about 10 tests and all are negative. I am not on any medications or birth control, of course. I had blood work done about 3 months ago and they told me to take birth control to help my period but i refused. The woman's body is gifted with these talents so there has to be a semi-natural way of discovering and diagnosing this problem. Please help. Thank you.

I really don't understand what you expect people to say when you already decided that you are mature enough and that you don't need birth control to help your period... you will have a lot of learning to do in your college, that's for sure - birth control pills contain hormones that are the same ones that our body is producing to control ovulation and menstrual cycle, so when your menstrual cycle is off the most likely cause is that levels of your hormones are wrong so you need to take BC pills in order to regulate those levels. No one takes these pill;s forever, you know - they are just a means to solve a problem.
