My son wants to try the Nutrisystems diet. I lost 80 pounds on it 20 years ago but lost a lot of hair some of which never grew back. I attributed it to the small amount of protein in their diet at the time. Have you heard any complaints about hair loss with their current products and foods?

"My daughter used nutri system for 5 months and has lost more than half her hair. She has been to the doctor and has found no health issue as a cause of the hair loss. She stopped eating nurtisystem and her hair is growing back and she had beautiful hair. I sure hope it all comes back."

I went on it for barely three months. Lost 14 lbs maybe, but in month 4 (not on diet any longer) started losing hair....in a month half my hair was gone....hoping it grows back this year.....

my sister and brother in law have been on it for a few months and didnt lose any hair. I eat it alot too. I dont get it its high in protein and gelatin and other things that are good for your hair I thought itd do the opposite.... ?? Maybe its because of the weight loss?

I have been on the nutisystem 3 months and I noticed lately that there is a bald spot on my front hairline. I am also having numbness in my left hand little finger. I have decided to finish the few NS meals I have and then call weight watchers. I know that they use real food in the diet. My son says the NS has way too many chemicals in it to be healthy for anyone.

I have been on Nutrisystem for four months, lost 25 pounds, and I have been losing a lot of hair. My stylist noticed right away and told me to take biotin and gave me a ton of Redkin hair product samples because I am also getting breakage. I told her I have been on Nutrisystem and she said STOP NOW!!!
Another thing I notice with some of their food is that a little bit after I eat it, I itch all over.

I was also on a nutrisytem diet for ~4 months. and it worked but I lost a lot of hair. Fortunately most of it did grow back but not 100%. I had no health issues either that would have contributed to this.

I have been on Nutrisystem for a few months. Suddenly I have had extreme hair loss and wonder if its from something I lack from this diet or something that is in their foods. I am considering laying off this diet for awhile to see if my hair comes back. I am so depressed at this happening to me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Nutrisystem made my hair fall out too after about a month or so....it is because of the high amount of soy protein in their food. Soy affects your thyroid which controls your hair growth. I stopped Nutrisystem and took a natural thyroid supplement for a few months and my hair came back better than ever. I checked and all the other meal delivery weight loss systems are full of soy too. Too much soy is really bad for women and their hormone levels.

I'm so glad I Googled about this problem. I've been on NS for a few months. I've thought a few times my hair was getting thinner. And also a noticeable loss at my cowlick. I was diagnosed at age 5 with a thyroid condition. Just this morning it occurred to me that maybe I need to rethink NS and get into see an endocrinologist for my thyroid. After reading such recent post I immediately called and canceled my NS membership. Shame, I enjoyed the food with results but not worth it. Next step will be to get a referral from my general doctor for the endo.

The same is happening to me. I have been on this diet for 2 months and am shocked at the amount of hair in my brush and the noticeable hair loss on my crown. I called to cancel NS due to the hair loss and was told they have not received this complaint before. I find that hard to believe.
