Painful and burning urination

 I visited the doctor about six months ago concerning me having painful urination and burning before and after urination, I have not had sex within six months prior to seeing the doctor, he took a urine sample and told me I had a uti. I was prescribed various antibiotics for the problem and six months later I am still having the same problem. My urologist went on to say it is just low grad inflammation that we just live with, but it is worrying me a little. I also have other medication awaiting pickup to see if that cures the problem. I was just wondering if anybody else experienced the same thing?

 Also a side note i recently switch the lotion I apply to my penis, since I was visiting family and It caused a bit of irritation with small red pimples, the FIRST time this happened since my problem began,which on top of the painful urination problem has me stressed out. Just wanted to know if a scented lotion can do that? The irritation on the head of my penis is clearing up know since I switched back.
