I need your help. I had unprotected sex. I am 37 with PCOS. I am having cycles  regularly every 28 days.  Had sex on 12th day of my cycle. Took Plan B in 2  hours.  got the period after 13 days of taking PLAN B (5 days early from  expected date).  took the blood test on 25th day of risk (got Negative)   took the HPT 35th day of risk (got Negative)  took the HPT 42nd day of  risk (got Negative)  I got the second period (after risk). Do you think  i am 100% clear from getting pregnant. I Never had sex since the last risk (6th  Oct).  I am reading Internet lot and getting all crazy info.. i.e people  get PERIODS even they are pregnant.  Also, I heard that people with PCOS  have less HCG levels..In that case, MY HPT results are useless?  I am  so worried.  Please help

Hi Kimmy,

It's unlikely you are pregnant.  You've taken Plan B in time and the other tests confirm it.

Would you describe your periods as "normal?"  If so, that's even more reason to believe you are not pregnant.  You CAN NOT have a period while pregnant, the lining of the urerus is shed so you would miscarriage.  You CAN have bleeding however.

HCG is made by the embryo.  PCOS should not affect the results and levels DO vary widely.

Hope it helps.

Normal Period for me means: day 1 - spotting, d2,d3,d4 - Heavy flow and Day 5 spotting

If it was normal then it is extremely unlikely you are pregnant. Heavy flow should not happen if you were pregnant either.

Hope it helps.

Plan B can cause spotting and the side effects can last for months as well.
