My 8 year old fell off her bed yesterday and landed right on her back which knocked the wind out of her. Immediatly, she complained of pain in her chest. She had trouble standing up straight and was in pain all night when trying to turn over in bed. Today she is still in pain when taking deep breaths, walking or bending over to pick something up. She is also tender in her chest to the touch.

Is it possible she has a sternum injury even though not directly hit in the chest? I can't figure out why chest pain when she fell on her back. I called her Pediatrician and he said to give her Motrin for the pain but should she have x-rays?
