Hi ....Im 8 weeks pregnant and Im having brown discharge when I go to the bathroom and clean myself...It is happening for 1 week already ...Last week I called my doctor and they said is normal ...please if somebody knows something let me know..thanks

While it is responsible to question a single doctor's opinion, especially if you are still concerned, you might wonder whether they would knowingly or carelessly palm you off with a bad or wrong answer, if it is wrong. More to the point, you might ask yourself how would you go about determining whether they were right, and it is normal, and if so what precisely is the nature of the discharge etc.

I can point out that you can, if you wish, test the validity of the doctor's opinion by asking at different clinics, or asking midwives, or nurses, or other qualified personnel; or going to a bookstore, or searching online.
If you consistently describe or read about your symptoms and they are consistently under the heading 'normal', that may put your mind to rest somewhat.
If I'm teaching you to suck eggs, I do apologise, but there's a reason 'getting a second opinion' is commonplace in the language, or a third opinion, or fourth.
