Hello! My boyfriend and I were having sex and all of the sudden he felt his pennis started hurting, when I looked at his pennis to see what was wrong, it had a big swollen lump on the side of his pennis. When we checked again the next morning it was swollen & purple. I told him he probably busted a vain. Can someone help me? I just want to know the reason why this happened? Thank you!

Hi there, if your boyfriend busted a vein, it would look very much like how you're describing. There's a lot of reasons as to why it would happen, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes it just happens. Usually it will take care of itself but if he is experiencing pain he should see a doctor to get it checked out. Can you keep us posted on how he's doing?

Hi Nancy, Your boyfriend could have also fractured his penis. Basically the chambers that fill with blood during erection get damaged. This is very serious and needs to get addressed immediately. He has all the symptoms.
It can happen from trauma, a weird position, or just bottoming out.
Have him see a urologist immediately. If it is a fracture it can cause erectile problems long term.
