I am 43 years old and I have a question concerning parenting issues. My wife and I love each other, but sometimes we argue a bit louder than necessary. We realized that our little girls, 11 and 13 years of age heard every discussion we had. Should we hide our argues from them? I mean, how stressful can that be for them?

Difficult question. You should try and remember how you felt when you saw or heard your parents in a verbal fight. Hiding is not the answer, they would still find out eventually. Keep your voices down; try to talk normally, even if you are arguing. Of course, both of you together must explain them that you love each other and that discussions are something that come and go from time to time.
