I've been having some serious problems with bedbugs for about 6 months now. When we moved in here last Feb. we didn't have any problems with them. But right when it started getting warm out, I started getting all these little, very itchy, red bumps all over me that have left awful scars. I thought they were mosquito bites. I live in a duplex. I started talking to my neighbor a lot and she kept mentioning that she was having a lot of problems with bedbugs. I didn't think much about it at the time, but once the bites got really bad, I started investigating. I would wake up after being asleep for a couple of hours and feel the bites and I would see these tiny little bugs in our bed and around my pillow, ICK!!! So I got some tape and stuck it to them and looked on the internet to see if I had them, even though I pretty much knew that was what they were.. Sure enough, thats what they were. I was so upset because it was confirmed. They are the worst things to have and are so hard to get rid of. I've tried pretty much everything in my control to try to get rid of them, nearly impossible. The only thing that has kept them off our bed is we wrapped the mattress in plastic so they can't crawl up on the bed and then I taped the sheet up away from the floor so they have nothing to crawl up onto. It's worked so far. I don't let anything get on the floor either. The bedbugs were here before we moved in. The landlord knew this, but didn't mention it at all of course. And I was 4 months pregnant when he rented to us at the time. How scandalous. He just wanted our money, knowing we were having a baby too! He won't do anything about it either and says we brought them in. That is total BS because we never had a problem with them horrible things. I never even knew they existed, just thought they were a made up thing in a childrens saying (sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite). We're pretty much stuck here for now because of our finances. I'm still getting bit here and there and I still see them once in awhile. Since its so cold out now, they have gone into hiding. But I know they will be back once it gets warm again. My question is, Is there anything I can eat or take, like a vitamin or something, that will keep them from biting me. My fiance is black and he doesn't get bit at all. I'm white and I get bit all the time. I know different races has to have something to do with it. Maybe chemicals or hormones or something. Or maybe he eats something more than me. Is there anything I can apply to my skin to keep them off. I've tried dousing myself in rubbing alcohol, it worked but is a pain because you have to constantly do it.
I really feel like these things have gotten so bad recently because of all the different people coming into this country. I'm not racist or anything, just really fed up with these f'n things. How come they are all of a sudden really bad? You used to never hear anything about them. Any one else feel me??? Any one else as fed up as I am!! >;)

Hi honey! Your neighbour and yourself need to have the house sprayed! And it is isn't from other people - it is just the climate and they grow in numbers SO rapidly! We have a terrible infestation of them where I live! Have you tried to vacuum them? I usually vacuum my beds and along the baseboards - they usually come out from the walls!!! Since you are renting you CAN file a complaint with the rental board for him to cover the cost of the spray! Just like if you had a leaky roof etc! Bed bugs travel via clothing, furniture, luggage etc! So don't think for one second it's you! Your bed might need to be thrown out! I know that SCRUBBING! the bed with a hard bristle brush can loosen the eggs, so you can vacuum them up! Just Cortisone cream's are the best! There is a train of thought - which I also agree with - that Type A blood attracts insects more than any other blood type! Do you get stung a lot by mosquitos in the summer? Either way, you have to find out your rights about making the owner pay for the spray and exterminator to be brought in! And CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and disenfect everything that is fabric - boil your sheets and put them in a hot dryer! Dry clean anything that can't be washed! Etc. Good luck and health!
