40 year old female, no kids, day 6 post surgery. So I am allergic to all painkillers, my recovery thus far has been beyond description. After reading so many of the posts, I feel glad that all this pain and burning is normal but goes away. I also had an anal fissure, so wasn't sure how much of the pain was from the hemoroidectomy and how much was from fixing that.

Today was the first night of getting anal spasms though and it was so painful it freaked me right out, hence me ending up here to see if that was normal. Seems it is. thanks for sharing your stories, it has helped me mentally.

Advice: If you have hemorrhoids, take the step to remove it'll. Longer means more pain to live in and deal with ... Sitz baths as hot as you can stand and drinking lots of water are a great help ... I would do it again inspite of the recovery, which is still ongoing for me, but confident it was worth it!
