Well schizophrenia can take many forms, bu t a very common sign is delusions. If he is on medication for it then that could explain the problems in speech and the constant sleeping. Also a lot of meds for mental disorders can cause some one to seem emotionless. like Cymbalta or Lithium for example. If he is not taking his meds regularly then it could explain if he has mood changes. anyway hope this helps you gain some insight.

How long are you dating him? How long do you know him? Was he always this way? It is very hard to know if he is schizophrenic if he is on medication. Have you tried talking to him about this? If so what was his reaction?

I'm not sure if your boyfriend is suffering from schizophrenia or if he is actually suffering from something else. It's hard because you may have to convince him to get some sort of help and I understand that'd be very hard to do if he's largely nonresponsive. The best advice I can give you is to be there for him but don't baby him--try to get him to see a counselor or therapist so he can get help. Does anyone have experience with this?
