Hello. I'm 21 year old female and I have some questions about mine and my boyfriend’s sexual habits.
You see, I'm sexually active for about two years now and still I don’t know some facts about my sexual life.
A couple of times my boyfriend and I had sex in the middle of my period and we always used condom.
But just recently he told me that using condom in sex during my period is pointless. He told me that there is no chance that I could end up pregnant. But, I have even read that there is increased chance of getting pregnant practicing sex in your period. Like I said, I really don’t know that much about these things and I would just like to find out was he right about all this.
Thanks!

Hello. I know some facts about this and I still can't say who’s right about all this, you or your boyfriend. You and your boyfriend can certainly have sex while you have your period. There is not an increased risk of getting pregnant while you have your period and that stuff you’ve read are just nonsense.
The right truth is that a woman is least likely to get pregnant during her period then in any other day in month.
Anyway, I would never recommend sex without condoms even when you have your period. The greater risk involved with having unprotected sex during a woman's period is that she has mistaken spotting or other midcycle bleeding for her period and the truth is that she’s ovulating. That’s the best way to get pregnant. Besides this having sex during your period does increase the risk of getting an STD, especially HIV.

There are fewer chances of being pregnant at this point. But I would suggest you meet your doctor's ones for avoiding any risks.

It's more like zero chances of pregnancy during her period as sperm will only survive 5 days inside the vagina and the next egg wouldn't be released for at least 11 days if she has a 28 day cycle.
