Should I expect to go through withdrawals after taking 5/500 hydrocode 3-4 times a day for a month?

My experience is that yes, you'll have a bit of withdrawal but it will be much more manageable because it's only been a month. I had a similar experience (about 3 weeks, same dosage) and it didn't feel nearly as bad as I thought.  Best to get off it now and fight through any withdrawal.  Just my .02

If I were to have a few tylenol 3's would it be better to taper down with those to avoid withdrawal? Or should I just go cold turkey from the hydrocodone?

I can't really give you advice there. The addict in me wants to tell you to take a few tylenol 3's to ease your fall but it's really up to you.

I was on Oxys for years, benzos for 15 years, and subs for 4 years. I jumped off of 4mg subs a day and 3 mg Klonopin. It took me nearly a year to feel right but I do feel right. I wanted to self medicate so many times over the last year (I'll be 1 year clean in a week) but i didn't. And each day that I didn't , I felt better than the previous.

Good luck. The grass is greener on the other side. Get to a meeting if you can. It helped me.

Thank you very much for your advice and congrats on the one year coming up! I think im going to play it day by day, was trying to taper on the vic's down to one 5mg a day and have 1/2 left...but again thank you for even responding, its nice to know some people genuinely care, not big on NA and AA, went for a while and it seemed kind of cult-ish to me...felt like I was always being judged and was undermined by the people that had alot of clean time.
