What is the deal with antidepressants and alcohol? I have heard many times that antidepressants and alcohol are not supposed to go together. My guess is that this is due to some side effects associated with the use of antidepressants and alcohol together? Would anyone explain this to me? Thanks.

There are several reasons why people should never take antidepressants together with alcohol. First of all, the side effects that are linked to the antidepressant already become much heavier when alcohol is added to the mix. Then, there is the fact that the antidepressants also increase the intoxication level for the alcohol, which means you get drunk quicker and with some unexpected add-ons, like fainting and similar nasty side effects.
