Strange discharge instead of period

I am a 29 year old female and for the past 3 months or so i have been having missed periods but in place have been getting this snot like white/yellow discharge. It has the constancy of an egg white and seems to just be secreting constantly. Some times when i use the restroom it will just be hanging there, sometimes there is a little and sometimes there is alot. I have seen the doctor, had two pregnancy tests at the office which were negative and was subsequently place on progesterone to "reset" my cycle. It worked and i got my period but now i am having the discharge again and have not received my period again. I dont know what the hell is going on and no one seems to be able to give me any answers. I have never had this happen before and have always received my period on the dot since i was 12. However, about 3 years ago i had an corpus lutetium cyst rupture and blow out my left ovary. i almost bled to death internally. Luckily i had an amazing surgeon who repaired the ovary and said everything should return to normal. I have explained this over and over to the docs i have seen and they dont seem to think this is related and done seem to be concerned about the discharge either. Can anyone help?

p.s there is no itch, odor, blood or pain with the discharge.
