I am 31 years old. I have had 2 babies and did not produce enough milk to feed either one of them. No matter how much I nursed or pumped, the milk eventually dried up. My youngest is almost 5 now. About 2 years ago I moved in with family, which included my 6 month old cousin. Shortly after I began to lactate for no reason. I thought it was because of the baby in the house, but they moved out of the state over a year ago and it didn't stop. I've heard that most women can't become pregnant while lactating, and I do want to have another child. Because of that, I I only removed enough to reduce the swelling and tenderness. When it didn't dry up doing that, I stopped completely. It still wouldn't stop. In the last year I have become pregnant twice, and lost both very early. Because I did become pregnant I am no longer worried that lactating will stop me from becoming pregnant again. I then hoped to increase the amount thinking it might make it easier to produce enough when I do have another baby. Just like with both of my sons, the amount remains small no matter what I do, but it won't stop either. Can anyone give me a clue as to what might be causing this.
