hello. This is my first time using this website so please bare with me. Today i was on my way to class, i parked in the parking structure, went downstairs, and all of a sudden I kept falling down to the my knees. I could not stand up for the life of me. Every 4 feet i would fall down. My legs literally felt like jello, i noticed myself shaking quite a bit also. I had gatorade in my hand and i couldnt hold anything either. The gatorade kept falling from my hand every 5 seconds no matter how hard i tried to hold it. dropping the gatorade is not a result from me falling... My arms and my legs were literally doing the same spasm or something at the same time. I couldnt find where i was going either. I walked around the parking structure falling to the ground repeatedly, and could not find where i was going. I have been to the exact same parking structure 100 times, and walked to class, so it was nothing new or out of the norm. I have read a little bit about nervous system... When i was driving to the structure i missed my turn, so maybe that made my nervous system freak out? it didnt do this while i was driving. I got out of my car, walked down the stairs, and everything hit me at once. A little background on myself: I am 25 year old male in pretty good health. I am type 1 diabetic, but my blood was perfect 20 minutes before this happened. I really dont think it has anything to do with my diabetes, but i wanted to put that out there for background. I cant find anything similar with all of the research i have done. The only thing somewhat similar is a diagnose for "old dog syndrome". any help would be great.

Hi Guest,
Please tell me you saw a doctor right after this happened?
What was your blood sugar then?
It could also be some sort of seizure.
See your doctor and tell them everything. Good luck.

I would get to your Physician immediately or E.R.. If your Diabetic you have to be very careful with things you eat or drink. Gatorade is packed with more sugar than a Pepsi or Coke. It's possible that much sugar made your body shut down, but you need to go get checked out for a possible small stroke or stroke. Do not let this go..go get checked out. You may have to go to a Nuerologist for further testing but preventative medicine is better than dealing with a huge stroke later. Good luck and I hope you feel better! Maureen Kelly M.A.

it probably sounds terrible, but no I didn't go see a doctor. I sat in my car for a good hour until I was comfiterable function. my personality is to try to find natural remedies before going to the doctors office (but I think that may have to change). I am on so many medications already, it makes it difficult to go to the doctor... celexa, wellbutrin, lantus, Humalog. my blood was 180 about 20 minutes before I left. When my blood gets really low (like 20-30) my hand tremors so bad I cant hold anything in it, its kind of similar to what happened. But When I was in my car after all this happened and I was able to find it, I didn't eat or drink anything and my blood was 140 when I got home. my girlfriend is in her senior semester at WMU nursing, and her and I cant find anything that's similar to what happened. I have been getting a cold, the night before I took cold meds all night, so could my kidneys cause this if maybe it was too much meds? my best guess is central nervous system because of the way my body was working.... you and MaureenK are right about contacting a doc appt. Probebly should of done that right after, but ill do it in the morning.
