I want to post positive information. I thought educating myself on what to expect would help me but I only found a lot of negative so here goes...

if possible start taking stool softener and fiber additive as soon as you know this surgery is needed~hey it can't hurt. if you are lucky enough to have a great surgeon like me, they won't candy coat it. There will be pain but the pain I am experiencing is equal to one of my really bad bm's with my 3~yes three extremely large hemorrhoids. Today is day 4 post surgery and I just had my first bm and I survived it...you will too!

the surgery itself is not bad. I was completely put out, woke up to zero pain, but took Percocet when I got home just in case. Zero pain on Percocet. I was concerned about constipation on the meds so day 3 switched over to just Tylenol. Still feeling good.

day 4 and my first bm....I watched what I ate so thankfully it came out "soft-serve". I went quite a bit but it was bearable. I jumped into a warm tub, relaxed my body and mind. Dried up, applied the ointment prescribed-popped one Percocet, ate some soup ~ drank a bunch of water and am doing good.

People, I was so scared but I am surviving it and you can too......I will keep you posted....

(if possible purchase one of those toilet sitz basins, stool softener, benefiber, baby wipes, Apple, cranberry and grape juice. Day 1 and 2 liquid diet, day 3 start eating more fiber re: pears,peaches,oatmeal...take your fiber and stool softeners without fail) objective for me was to allow to heal a couple of days then have the softest bm possible..so far so good!
