I have also been diagnosed with syringomyelia, I have a cystic lesion in the thoracic spinal cord. From unknown reasons, I have to have MRIs every 6 months to make sure that it is not getting bigger or turning into a tumor.  Is yours caused by a Chiari malformation? From what I understand it is a slowly progressing lesion that is a build up of cerebrel fluid. What symptoms are you experiencing?
