Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking the reason we are all having vaginal burning with cipro because we are not drinkng enough water with the medicine (it says it in the instructions). So the medicine is not being flushed out with of our system quick enough, and throws off the PH down there.....

I only say this because once I started drinking a ton of water while the burning was happening, I felt sooooo much better.

Just a thought.

I am having the same issue and the cramping is so painful. I am on 750 MG x2 a day for Staph infection in an open surgery wound on my lower back.

Omg I'm experiencing the same exact thing! I have extreme burning and irritation in the vaginal area and a handful of pimple like lesions near my vaginal opening and anus. I just had a blood panel and am std free, so I know it's not anything like that causing this. These symptoms started occurring after just 1 day on cipro, then of course intensified as I kept taking it. On my 3rd day of cipro, I took the pill at 11pm and woke up 2 hours later with the most severe burning sensation on my vagina - I couldn't even sleep. When I looked in the morning, there were a few more pimple like lesions. I called the urgent care I originally went to for my uti and they told me to stop taking the cipro and prescribed me something else. They also told me to buy desitin for the irritation and lesions, it's normally used for diaper rash. I'll update on how things progress, but I'm going to see my gyno tomorrow because this has been a truly, horrifying experience I wish on nobody. The burning was so severe, I debated going to the hospital.

Did you ever find out if these symptoms were an STD or from the Cipro? I'm having the same exact symptoms

Were you ever tested for std? I took Cipro for a UTI and had the same symptoms of sores. Doctor thinks it's herpes but I do not agree!

Hi guest. The side effects you are describing are probably due to cipro, as with any form of antibiotics it can bring on yeast infection because they kill off all the bacteria including the good bacteria that helps keep ties right balance in the vagina, yeast infections can come in several different forms from internal normal cottage cheese type discharge to external itchy red burning vulva with white patches.
Try using an over the counter cream for yeast infections or for jock itch and see if that helps. :-)

If you have pimple like lesions that have "burst", you may have herpes. Best to have it checked right away.

They can swab the sores and and send to the lab to verify if it is herpes-best to know for sure.

Yes, you HAVE to drink a ton of water with this medicine.

based on the symptoms you provide, i think the condition you have is yeast infection and the unsatisfied result you got might be caused by drug resistance. you need treatment that has no such problem such as diuretic pill
