First off I wanna thank y'all for this thread because I just about thought I had some kind of std

It took longer to react on me because I was put on flagyl after but with my weakened immune system it came out in full force. It's day 3 since the full breakout. I'm using Valtrex tablets and a topical antibiotic with cortisone(fucidin h)
The sores are decreasing in size slowly

Wash with warm water only or use a warm wet rag and gently pat vagina

Stretch your legs apart as wide as possible and pee inside your shower....its the least painful.

Take folic acid, vitamins etc to build back up your immune system to ensure that your recovery is quicker

Drink plenty water to flush out your pee

I'll update progress some days later

Update
We did a swab and urine test. It seems it's not a side effect of cipro. It's a staph infection. I've been put on bactrum forte for 5 days. I feel a bit better. I can pee sitting now with less pain. The smaller sores are gone. It's just the huge one to go

Hope that helps

I took Cipro for 5 days for UTI. I have also had burning and itching. I don't think its a yeast infection. Could it be bacterial vaginosis. Very frustrating!!!!

I also woke up with vaginal burning and having weird nerve pain in my legs and but area. With some nerve pain in my arms. This has not ceased in 5weeks! Anybody rule out stds with these symptoms ? Have not had any lesions or redness ( knock on wood).

It burns a lot when I pee and have lots of cramps with white milky pus. So I took 1 cipro and 2 zithromax. What to do now?

I took cipro for a UTI that had gone up to the kidney. I had to stop the 7 day-course after four days because the vaginal burning was too intense. The stuff is so strong, it's like peeing javex; it burns the entire inner labia. I put a fresh clean cloth there after peeing and then some olive oil as a protective barrier against the next pee. I also take oral probiotics to re-establish a good flora. I find it puzzling that a medication prescribed for a UTI can cause urinary tract side effects...
Burning and vaginal irritation are cited as a side effects.

This is happening with me on Cipro and I'm late stages of Perimenopausal, sliding into Menopause come 2 months. This started cramps in that area and I have what looks like a light period! Mind you, I haven't bled for 10 months! Did you ever find out what was occurring ... was it yeast infection?

Hello.

There are several factors to consider if you experience bleeding or spotting while on antibiotics like Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and are in the late stages of perimenopause:

*Perimenopause: Even if you haven't had a period for several months, it's still possible to have occasional periods or spotting during perimenopause until you've gone 12 consecutive months without a period. Only then are you considered to have fully entered menopause.

*Effect of Antibiotics: Some women report experiencing vaginal symptoms or changes in their menstrual cycle while on antibiotics. This might be due to an imbalance of the vaginal flora. Antibiotics can reduce the number of beneficial bacteria in the vagina, potentially leading to yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis, which can sometimes cause spotting. However, antibiotics like Cipro aren't typically directly associated with causing menstrual bleeding.

*Other Causes: There are various other potential causes for spotting or bleeding, especially in perimenopausal women. These can include changes in hormone levels, thinning of the vaginal lining, polyps, fibroids, or more rarely, other medical conditions that might need attention.

Remember, if you are on any form of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or hormonal birth control, these can also influence bleeding patterns.
