Hi, a week ago I started having nausea and diarrhea. I went to doctor, and she diagnosed me with trichinosis. She said that this condition is caused by worms from food. How could I get those worms when I live in excellent hygiene conditions?

Hi, I also had trichinosis few years ago. I don’t think it’s caused by hygenic conditions, because my flat couldn’t be any cleaner. If I understood well, trichinosis is caused by eating raw or undercooked pork and wild game products infected with the trichina worm. You probably ate this meet without knowing that it was infected. I had intestinal infection, witch was followed by diarrhea, vomiting and fatigue. My doctor immediately suspected that I had trichinosis, and he sent me to have a stool study. When his diagnose turned to be right, he prescribed me thiabendazole. This drug is used to kill adult warms in intestines.
