Trying to ease the pain of my girlfriends first time having sex

My girlfriend and I have been trying to have sex for over a couple months now, we've tried a total of 5 times but each time we try, the pain is too much for her to bear so we stop. Both her and I want to get through, I think she might want to more than me, but she just can't stand the pain. Is there anything that will help this process? I'm trying to make it as least painful as possible for her but I know there's not really a way around that
