That's rough, I feel for you, and had the same problem with Oxycodone, beginning at 17, and ending when I was 26. My problem was I'd try to detox myself on my own and fail every time at about the 4 day mark, and be back on it. Couldn't seem to do the taper-down thing either. In the end what worked for me was to arrange to have a friend drive me and my cousin, the "babysitter" if you will, to a remote rental forest service cabin ($40 per night) for 21 days. We had all the food we needed and everything else, but of course no drugs. It was a 45 mile walk out, since the friend left with the car and would only return to check on us once a week. My cousin the babysitter had no prior drug issues and was a clean and sober person. I owe my life to him. I wanted to die for the first 15 days, then began to come around. By the 21 day mark I had my life back. The whole thing set me back about $1600 in 2002, with the cabin rental, food, etc, but that was a hell of a lot cheaper than continuing on with the habit. Hope this helps. Stick it out and good luck, you'll be glad you did it. Then after you're successful and you are confronted with taking the opiates again, just remember the first 2 weeks in the cabin and you'll run fast in the other direction from the pills.

The guest has some really good advice. Even though camping is a great idea for trying to quit drugs, it won't work for everyone. Camping might work better if you ate some "magic" mushrooms (Psilocybin) because of the introspective mindset they put you in. That intospective mindset is usefull for evaluating the goo and/or decisions you have made in your life. I have also read an extensive number of articles on Ibogaine being used in a similar way. Just to make a note "magic" mushrooms and Ibogaine are NOT addictive. Just make sure you are somewhere comfortable to you (your home) and try not to be around people that are jerks because it is absolutely no fun to be messed with while you are on ANY hallucinogen.
