Hi
Am new on Steadyhealth. Now i have a very stressing question. In october 2007, i had a myomectomy done because i have failed to concieve, i have a child who is nine years old now. the gyn who performed the surgery told me that me tubes werent so good but he had inserted some drugs to clear the problem. He asked me to do an HSG which i did, now i changed gyns and this one i saw told me i had abrasions on my tubes and the only solution is surgery. Shall i be able to concieve after this surgery? Coz people have told me once you undergo surgery the chances of concieving are mimnimal, and please advice should i under go this surgery?

Hello! I nor anyone else can tell you to go ahead or not go ahead with this surgery! What does the surgeon want to do with your tubes? And is it for both tubes? Abraision on the tubes, can increase your chances of having an etopic pregnancy, but so can any tubal operation including a previous etopic pregnancy! You HAVE to ask ALL the questions to the surgeon honey! You have to be TOTALLY informed before you go ahead with any surgery. I would like you to write down ALL the questions you have - Pros and Cons - then take that paper with you. And ask away and write down the answers - because I promise you honey you will NOT remember the answers!

Have either Gynos told you about taking Metalozone or Clomid to increase your fertility? Also has anyone discussed using Artificial Insemination? This might be a better way than keep trying with damaged tubes! There is a way of treating the tubes however! So like I said honey, ask ALL the questions you need to know! I hope I helped you a little bit, and if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask me anything OK? Good luck and health!
