I am 27 years old and have had very irregular periods all my life. I can go up to about 4 or 5 months without a period and then have it 2 or 3 months in a row. I usually have about 6 or 7 periods a year. I have been to my doctor and she says that many women live with irregular periods so I have 2 options either live with the unpredictability of my period or be put on birth control to regulate my periods. My doctor sent me to get a ultrasound just to make sure that my irregularity was not some serious condition and the tests came back normal. This was early this year.
Since I am 27 and am in a stable relationship (engaged) I do not want the birth control option since I know that women with irregular periods have trouble conceiving and I feel if I am put on birth control it will probably take longer to get pregnant when I stop. We are planing to "try" getting pregnant right after our marriage and I hear that after you stop BC it takes a while to conceive and since it might take a while because of my irregularity I don't want to double the time it takes. We have stopped using any type of protection in the hopes of getting lucky. We are not actively "trying" yet but we would not mind if we got lucky early and became pregnant. BTW sorry long post...anyway now that I have given my history its time for me to post my concern. I started my period on September 25th and ended it on October 2nd. On October 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th and 19th I have had a small amount of blood discharged from my vagina after a bowel movement. It is only a tiny amount and after I wipe once I don't have anymore blood. It does not happen every bowel movement but it is so random that it is confusing. The color is bright red. Also I have had slight cramping..actually i wouldn't even call it cramping just feels like I am starting my period again. STRANGE! o.O Any ideas?

Hi VM33. I am trying to get pregnant as well, but I am lucky to be dealing with a normal cycle, however, I have other opsticals to face. Anyway, they dates you laid out seem kind of like it could be implantation bleeding, however, that should only last a couple days and not be bright red. Also, it happening after a BM is strange. I just read that some women bleen a little when they are ovulating...maybe this is the case for you. I would say, however, that if it doesn't stop soon, you should go to the doc. Good luck to you!
