So i have been using birth control since I was 17. I am 20 right now and I know that if you take an antibiotic while using any kind of birth control it will not work. Well all i wanted to know is when you take an antibiotic, how long does it take for your birth control to start working again?

Hi honey! It does not stop working at all, it just slightly takes down the effectiveness of said bc. Usually your pill will be 99% effective, depending on the type of bc the antibiotic takes that down to about 92 - 98%! So you are still covered, but not as much, so while you are on it, use condoms as well - which I advise EVERYONE to do! As you can still get pregnant on the pill- never mind STD's or STI's - UTI's etc. etc. etc. Hopefully this helps!
