For the past two weeks I have been experiencing vaginal discharge, itching, and pain during sexual intercourse. I went to my primary care physician and she tested me for all std's, yeast infection, and vaginitis. I tested negative for all which was great but it still does not tell me why I am experiencing this irritation. The only other thing I can think of that it might be is my birth control. I am taking Nuva Ring, which is inserted in my vagina. Now, some side affects match what I am experiencing. Could this be it? Should I discontinue it? Help Me I want this to go away.

Sarah,
I have been sexually active with the same man for two years now, and have been on the nuva ring for a little over 3 years. I have never had any problems with the nuve ring, no yeast infections/vaginitis, I have never had an std etc.. and have loved the nuva ring. However, within the last month or so I have been experiencing painful interscourse, occasionally, not continually, but enough that I am becoming concerned, this past week the pain level increased drastically. I have also tested negative for all STD's Vaginiti's and infection, and have been left a bit in the dark as to why this could be happening. My doctor is suggesting that perhaps there simply is not enough lubrication during intercourse which apparently is common amoung women on the nuva ring. I irritated enough to withstain for sex for a bit, but when i attempt again, I think I will try to remember this, as this is the only answer I have been given. I'm intrested to hear you have the same problem though and are also on nuva ring, how long have you been on it, and have you had any other issues??
